Our Story

I love that Notecards are used to carry a personal, often simple message... a message that can carry a smile.

It's personal because the author took time and effort to write and then send their card - rather than just slam off another e-mail or text message.

And for me, that's what makes Notecards so very special - both as a publisher of notecards and as someone who receives them.

I'm Gill Williams, and I run Notecards.

My 'discovery' of just how great notecards can be, began when I had cancer.

At that time, I sometimes received a card with a chatty message from either a friend, or family member, and getting those cards often helped to make a tricky old day 'doable'.

When I was better, I started to look for a project to get my teeth into, and notecards.co.uk is that project!

My decision was not my following some kind of romantic dream... I am fully committed to making my plans for notecards successful.

I think my actual action-trigger was watching a television programme about a young woman who had set up a card printing business that specialised in what she described as "...rude cards".

I recognised her passion and verve - because I have both for my project (but my cards aren't rude).

Soon after that TV programme is when I started Notecards.co.uk for real.

I bought the equipment to produce our notecards to a high standard. I also made sure that our equipment can produce our notecards as cheaply as possible, in order to keep our prices low.

I invested to bring together a large collection of artwork.

I found a unit for us to work from.

I also invested in a personalising website for our cards, but in the end I didn't like it, so I scrapped it... maybe I'll get one in the future!

And.. here we are....

I have a passion for Notecards... and one day soon I hope

that I can share my passion with you as one of our customers.
